Berg Injury Lawyers offer free cab rides on New Year's Eve

SACRAMENTO - Berg Injury Lawyers will offer its Safe and Sober Cab Ride Home program to residents in Sacramento this New Year's Eve. The free cab rides will be offered from 10 p.m. Friday, Dec. 31 through 4 a.m. on Jan. 1, 2011.

Due to the program's overwhelming popularity in past years, a cap of $35 will be placed on each ride home. Patrons must may any cab fare above that amount.

For a ride home, call Yellow Cab Company of Sacramento at (916) 444-2222. Patrons must be picked up at a participating restaurant, hotel or bar in the downtown Sacramento area to qualify for a free ride. Rides home must be within the city of Sacramento. The free cab rides are for adults who have been drinking and will only be apply for rides home, not to another drinking location. 

Due to the high number of requests on New Year's Eve, rides can't be guaranteed for everyone who calls, but every attempt will be made to accommdate all requests.

For the past six years, the Safe and Sober Cab Ride Home program has been helping keep potentially impaired drivers off the road. The program is 89 rides away from providing 5,000 safe rides home, since its began in 2004.
