Sacramento Kings and Salvation Army team with Feed The Children to feed 1600 families

Feed The Children, an international hunger relief organization, will distribute four semi tractor-trailers full of food boxes to 1,600 local families.  The Salvation Army-Sacramento has pre-identified the recipient families. Each family will receive a 25-pound box of food, a 10-pound box of personal care items and a box of Avon products.  The boxes are designed to help a family for up to one week.

Feed The Children and Salvation Army staff will join nearly 50 volunteers on that day.  Several current and former players, as well as NBA legends and Sacramento Kings executives, will be on hand to help distribute boxes to families.

The distribution is also a part of Feed The Children’s Americans Feeding Americans Caravan, which has helped more than 200,000 families across the country since it began in 2009.

This is the second consecutive year in which Feed The Children and The Salvation Army have partnered in a food distribution.
