Candidates interested in leading tour groups, meeting people from all over the world, sharing Sacramento’s fascinating history and working in the dynamic historic district in Old Sacramento State Historic Park are encouraged to apply.

The local owners of La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries are expanding staff in their greater Sacramento area showrooms and currently have immediate openings for up to 15 new sales professional/associate designer positions.  Positions are open in their Sacramento, West Sacramento, Roseville, Elk Grove and Gold River stores.  This staff expansion effort will help the local company ramp up for 2016.

“As the economy continues to improve, our business continues to grow and we’re especially excited for 2016 when we will begin a series of renovations in our already beautiful showrooms,” said Jim Reego, co-owner of seven La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries stores in Northern California.

The Midtown Business Association (MBA) is proud to present their annual Midtown Gala on Thursday evening, October 15, 2015 from 5:30 to 9 p.m. in the courtyard of the E. Claire Raley Studios for the Performing Arts located at 2420 N Street in Sacramento. Interested community members are invited to attend and tickets are available now.  The much-anticipated event that will include live musical entertainment, incredible food “pop-ups” hosted by some of Midtown’s best restaurants, and opportunities to mix and mingle with Sacramento’s leading chefs, business owners and visionaries.

Youth Hackathon- Sept. 11-13 in West Sacramento

Code For Hood is coming to West Sacramento! This 2.5 day hackathon is open to 12-17 year old. Workshops will cover coding, video game design, 3D design, engineering, art, website design, entrepreneurship, startups, civic innovation, and more.

The last day will be the competition day of the hackathon. Each team will be mentored and guided during their project build, using the skills they used in the workshops. Teams will present their projects to a panel of judges and the top 2 teams will win prizes. Washington Unified School District students are encouraged to sign up.
