Suspect in Jack in the Box standoff identified | Crime
SACRAMENTO - On Sunday, the Sacramento County Coroner identified the man suspected of holding up an east Sacramento Jack in the Box for hours on Saturday.
The alleged robber was identified as 26-year-old Xang Khang of Sacramento.
According to Sacramento police, the incident started around 12:30 p.m. Saturday when Khang barricaded himself inside of the Jack in the Box restaurant on the 8300 block of Folsom Boulevard with two female employees as hostages for nearly three hours.
The standoff ended about two hours later when a sniper killed Khang.
Khang had an extensive criminal history, having been arrested for domestic violence, misdemeanor DUI, and drug possession, said police.
The sniper who killed Khang was placed on administrative leave per standard procedure.
