Supermoon in El Dorado County

SHINGLE SPRINGS, CA - This was shot in El Dorado County California at 8:15 p.m. 5.5.12 on the Ponderosa Road overcrossing at HWY 50 (near the recent meteor explosion and meteorite dusting back on April 22, 2012).

Hoped to get it coming up over the Sierra, but it was sneaky and came up further south and higher in the sky than I wanted it to be, but still pretty. Little instant tail gate party going on with all the area folks hanging out on the overcrossing waiting for it to show up.

Sacramento's Gem: The American River Bike Trail

Sacramento's Gem: The American River Bike Trail

Just when you think you are disappointed with what Sacramento has to offer, think again.. The American River Bike Trail has everything to give us a life worth treasuring. From biking to hiking,  boating to wildlife viewing, family picnic to solitary meditation, you have it all.

ARBT is aptly described in one of Bob Dylan's poems, that goes:

"There's beauty in the silver, singin' river,
There's beauty in the rainbow in the sky,
But no one and nothing else can touch the beauty"

Wild weather earlier this week doesn't dampen dedication

Mike sent us this picture of "Donna Dove" on 41st Street in East Sac hanging in her nest hatching chicks despite the recent rainy weather. He tells us that's dedication! We agree! How did you survive this recent wild weather? Send me an email MCrowley@news10.net  I'd love to hear about it!
