UPDATE: Victim identified in Rancho Murieta crash

RANCHO MURIETA, CA - One person was killed and two others were critically injured when a motorhome and pick-up truck collided in Rancho Murieta Wednesday afternoon, authorities say.

The crash was at Jackson Highway (Highway 16) and Murieta Parkway. The California Highway Patrol says the motorhome caught fire and one of the victims was trapped underneath it.

Janis Anita Lankford, 62, of Pioneer, was killed in the wreck, which blocked all lanes, the CHP said.

The pick-up was described as a white Toyota. The motorhome pulled a boat.

Nearby grass land also caught fire.  The road was closed at the Michigan Bar junction with Ione Road on Jackson Highway and Jackson at Murieta North so Sacramento Metro firefighters could put out the flames and crews could clear the crash site.

The incident was first reported at 12:34 p.m.
