Sacramento Rev. Glen Cole dies

SACRAMENTO, CA - A pastor well-known throughout the Sacramento area spent his final days playing golf with his brother and enjoying an early Valentine's Day dinner with his wife.

Rev. Glen Cole, 78, died of a massive heart attack on Tuesday, according to Trinity Life Center Senior Associate Pastor Tom Galovich. Cole was found in his car in the Trinity Life Center parking lot at 5225 Hillsdale Boulevard. The pastor's seatbelt was unbuckled and he was unresponsive, according to Galovich.

"He was just a people person. He loved people, knew who they were, remembered their names. You could meet him once or twice and ten years later he would call you by your first name," said Galovich.

Cole was the founder of Capital Christian Center and senior pastor at Trinity Life. Under his leadership, church attendance increased from 200 to more than 1,000 people.

"He loved people. He preached the simple unadulterated truth of God's word. He wasn't afraid to stand up for what was right," said Galovich.

Cole leaves behind his wife Mary Ann; sons Randy and Rick and their wives Joanne and Cathy; and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral services are being arranged.
