Summer Infant Water Safety in Sacramento

Summer Infant Water Safety in Sacramento

With the beginning of summer upon us, thoughts turn to fun in the sun and water.  For infants and toddlers, that can mean tragedy.  In California, drowning is the number one killer of chidren under the age of four, according to the Infant Swimming Resource of Sacramento.

Eppie's Great Race - July 23, 2011

The 38th annual Eppie's Great Race, the "world's oldest triathlon", is to take place on the 23rd of July this year.

People interested in signing-up to participate in the race can do so until Friday, July 22nd, but those who do on The Great Race's website before April 30th will save $60 off of their entry fee.

Participants can either sign up solo (as an ironman/ironwoman racer) or as a part of a racing team of up to three people.

The race starts at William Land Park in the Arden area of Sacramento and ventures along the American River to Guy West Bridge near the Sacramento State campus, then heading back up-river to the Sunrise Foot Bridge in Fair Oaks before finally going with the flow ending at River Bend Park in Rancho Cordova.

Eppie's Great Race also has a special "Kids Dualthlon", which includes a 2-mile run and a 5.75-mile bike ride, for those under 18 years old.
